The Power of Collaboration

The Power of Collaboration

Over the last week, I have share some of my deepest, darkest moments as well as some of my greatest “a-ha” moments.

And for me, the answer is in collaboration.

When I collaborate with the right people:

We create a synergy more powerful than possible as individuals

We blast through the mess and get straight to the message

We discover what is working and why, so you can stop the things that don’t serve you

We layout a simple, step-by-step plan that can be handed off to your team for support and implementation

We discover new, out of the box opportunities to spread your message and have a greater impact

We get results

We have fun!

If you are:

  • Not sure about what is working, what is not, and/or why
  • Struggling with having a life and running a successful business
  • Stuck between making enough to feel like you are almost there, but not enough to feel like you made it
  • Frustrated with having a team
  • Wanting to make 2013 the year that you have a life and a successful business

Then you should consider finding someone to help you. Go COLLABORATE with great people!

Where to find these great people?

They are everywhere! They are online. In your favorite social networks like Facebook and LinkedIn. They are in your community…maybe even on your same street.

You and I might even be a good fit to collaborate! Who knows!?! But reach out to someone and stop being alone.

If you want to know more about collaborating with me to help you strategize, develop a plan and/or program, then please read my previous blog posts about my story over the last year.

Are you making the mistakes I made?

How I built my business after it crumbled

This will help you understand more about me and what is important to me–a necessity for any collaborative partnership to ensure you are on the same page. If my story resonates with you, there are instructions at the bottom of both posts to set up an appointment so we can talk.

But even if you don’t choose me, which is fine, choose YOU. Choose to serve yourself and do things together and better!

Summer Overwhelm…Missing?

Summer Overwhelm…Missing?

Summer overwhelm!

That’s what this blog post was about 5 minutes ago. 5 great tips to help you (and me) avoid the overwhelm and feel accomplished in between dealing with kids running in/0ut of the house, cars breaking down, baseball tournaments, dance & cheer practices, parades, summer camps and life slapping you over the head (or as some say, God laughing at you because you tried to plan something without consulting HIS schedule).

But it’s gone. Missing. Disappeared.

And that brings me to my REAL issue. I am really struggling with this 30 day blog challenge. I am just not sure, with everything in my life, that I have the attention span to do something for 30 days.

And if that’s true, how could I possibly expect myself to be any more successful than I am now???

I am pretty sure that as difficult as it is, it is very important for me to learn how to stay focused to the end of a project. In fact, as I write this, I am sure that my team will LOL (laugh out loud, for those of you without kids) when they read this.

So here is my public commitment. I WILL complete the 30 Day Blogging Bonanza that I created a few weeks ago. (I will even commit to TWO extra days to compensate for last weekend which flew by without a post from me.)

And I can already tell you it does everything I said it would.

  • I am now getting 2-3 times more new subscribers everyday than I was before.
  • I am getting great comments on Twitter, Facebook and my blog about the short articles.
  • I am making new, cool friends.
  • And I have cool people calling me up wanting to do business with me! (that’s money in my pocket)

So it works. I know. And I will continue.

How’s it going for you?

PS. What tips do you have for warding off the “summer overwhelm”? It would be great to hear YOUR thoughts and perhaps it would jog my memory for the 5 cool tips I thought of, wrote in a cool blog post, then lost and promptly forgot…

How do YOU define success?

How do YOU define success?

I was recently installed as the President of my local chapter of NAWBO (National Association of Women Business Owners). I was also on the nominating committee for the Women Business Owner of the Year and Rising Star Awards for 2010. And I had the honor of interviewing Gretta Spendlove and Amanda Moxley–the award winners.

It was inspirational to hear these successful women discuss their perspective of SUCCESS.

The first question I asked them both was “How to you define success?” This is a question I have asked many great women and I love the answers I get. ┬áIn my presidential acceptance speech, I discussed my own thoughts on this question.

I believe that success comes from the following:

First, success is a feeling, not a destination. It comes from when you are “on the right track”. This is when you have a mission and you are consciously working on that track.

Success also comes from connecting to your PURPOSE–that WHY you do what you do. When you are clear about why you work as hard as you do and juggle all of the pieces of your life and the lives of those around you, their is a feeling of accomplishment.

Also, when you are clear about the VISION of where you are going and your VALUES of how you will accomplish that journey, success becomes the path.

What is YOUR definition of success?
