How I built my business after it crumbled

“Today, I embrace my potential to be, do, and have whatever I can dream.”

I was listening to a meditation the other day (Day 5 of the 21 Meditation Challenge by Deepak Chopra) and this was the centering thought for the day.

And it spoke to me. It reminded me of where I was at 13 months ago.

Last week, I shared with you about how I made some serious mistakes in my life and my business that caused everything to crumble out from under me.

“In the last year, not only did I get crystal clear about a business model and method that served me, but I wasn’t willing to settle for anything less.

I have built my business back up to a thriving model that supports my vision of ONLY doing business in collaboration with my clients and partners. “

The reality is, just because you get crystal clear about how you WANT to do business doesn’t mean that it gets easy over night.

So I thought I would share 3 things that I did that allowed me to build me business back up.

  1. GOT CLEAR ABOUT HOW I WANTED TO PARTNER–EVEN THOUGH I HAD BEEN TOLD IT COULD NOT BE
  1. I STOOD FIRM ABOUT THE HOW I WORK – AS PARTNERS

What happened next?

I got a client. We were officially partners…spelled out just the way I dreamed it could be.

This made me realize that it was possible.

I started to trust ME–instead of the naysayers that told me it couldn’t be.

I started to listen more to my inner-wisdom, the one who supports me and believes in me the way I would like others to believe in me.

And people started having conversations with me about working together and how I could support them.

And I started listening to WHY they wanted to hire me…and I learned a lot.

I learned that my 25 years of experience was valuable.

I learned that a collaborative model of doing business together was not only possible but also respected and desired by some.

I learned that when I was working in these new, collaborative partnerships, my most brilliant self was shining and supporting my clients better than ever before.

And I learned that this is the only way I want to do business from now on.

So I scratched 70% of my plan for 2012 and committed to only working in these new relationships with my clients.

And now, as I plan for an amazing 2013, I am more excited than I have ever been about the business I am building. Maybe it’s because I KNOW it can happen (instead of just hoping it can happen).

So I ask you:
